By 2015 the regional government plans to have a client contact centre (KKC) in every municipality. In order to achieve this, the traditional office has to be replaced by ‘an organisation directed at providing an accommodation concept’ and this led to three agencies being invited to tender for this project. Hollandse Nieuwe was the unequivocal winner. The new town hall has been designed to stimulate communication and meeting. The majority of the employees do not have a permanent workplace but follow the principal of ‘activity related work’. This means working at the place that is most suited to your activity. To bring the identity of Uithoorn inside, we developed a concept whereby air photographs of the surroundings are used to provide an abstract graphic reproduction of the municipality.
