Heidrick & Struggles, as one of the most prominent executive search firms in the world, aspired to create a new and more exclusive office space for their Amsterdam branch that represented the same high quality and excellence they provide to their clients. Their new office is located within the NoMa building in South of the city.

Privacy is of paramount importance to Heidrick & Struggles and thus it was important to ensure that rooms offered privacy for important confidential meetings to take place between staff or with invited clients and partners. This is why all meeting rooms where designed to a very high standard of acoustic values. By designing the acoustic elements ourselves we ensured they achieved the highest global design standards. As Heidrick & Struggles is a global functioning company it was also important to provide each meeting room with high quality AV solutions to ensure connectivity with offices all over the world.
An important concept introduced into the office area was a new organizational spine. This eye-catching wooden element organizes the entire office floorplan. It acts by dividing the more open and receiving part of the office from the more quiet and personal workareas. Embedded within this element we were able to provide all the necessary supporting functions for the workarea including; a pantry, concentration booths, storage, lockers, phonebooths etc. Our design included the integration of the very important green accent. The plants and flowers provide a fresh and pleasant touch for the users. By integrating all extra facilities we assured a free and open workarea. We choose to alternate colour schemes making this central element dynamic and joyous for the users. By co-ordinating an atmospheric lighting scheme and incorporating greenery within and surrounding this element we have fostered a warm, pleasant, modern and efficient work environment.
The design generator for the new Heidrick & Struggles office was to create an environment that would support the specific work dynamic of our client. As Heidrick & Struggles offer a variety of services, including executive searches, advisory solutions, executive coaching and leadership developments, it was important to the design that the entrance area provide a welcoming area for new, old and potential clients and partners also. By taking advantage of the existing high windows and high ceiling we created a beautiful and high quality interior that offered a warm, bright and modern setting to make the visitor feel comfortable and reflect the values of the H&S. Directly upon entering the office visitors are offered a spectacular view over the city. Adjoining this welcoming area are a variety of meeting rooms of differing scales and formality that allow our client the flexibility to tailor the environment for their meetings to suit their visitors.
Adjacent to the terrace we find a grand training and communication room. The requirement to provide a multi-use area demanded that we create a flexible environment that could host seminars, traineeships and large meetings. A bespoke seating feature combined with a high seat counter top are the key elements in this space and depending on the required capacity the loose furniture can be adapted to suit. By continuing the same high standards throughout on acoustics and technological support, we created a room perfectly suited to from the scale of personal meetings to globally connected digital meetings.
